When I Die

I wrote this back in 2014. I was writing after a long hiatus and I don’t remember the state of mind I was in when I wrote it. It recently turned up in memories on Facebook and I wanted to share it with the world. So, here it is:

What would I be
When I die?
Nothing.
Nothing but a memory.

An empty seat perhaps,
A vacant side on the bed,
A feeling never expressed,
Or a call that never came.

What would I be
When I die?
Nothing.
Not even a forgotten memory.
